Alina Alamorean

Driven by the desire to elevate jewellery to the status of a major art form, Alamorean employs simple, rapid techniques to let materials express themselves freely through her hands, without control or constraint, producing powerful and sensual pieces with which to adorn the body. These objects are diabolically divine, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is wearable and acceptable. Chance and play, the unexpected and the experimental, nourish and surprise Alamorean’s imagination in a constant quest for wonder, combining instinctive creation with intellectual exploration.

Work by Alamorean has been exhibited at museums and institutions including DIVA Diamond Museum, Bunka Gakuen Costume Museum, Palais de Tokyo, Bozar and Museum of Arts and Design. Her work is included in the permanent collection of DIVA Diamond Museum in Antwerp, Belgium.

Alamorean was a two-time winner of the prestigious HRD Diamonds Awards in Belgium in 2005 and won the first international prize in the same competition in 2007. She was also awarded two accolades at the Tahitian Pearl Trophy in Paris in 2007. The designer's work features in publications including The New Jewelers (Thames & Hudson, 2012), Bijoux contemporains, une passion (Editions du Regard, 2018), Bagues d'Homme (Albin Michel, 2018) and Laurent Benaim: Curious Encounters (Taschen, 2019).
