The figure at the centre of the piece is a 19th-century porcelain Bisque doll. It is unknown how the incredibly delicate and thin porcelain figure was attached to the wing and crown components, a testament to the way Castro’s workmanship pushes the boundaries of what is deemed possible in the jewellery world. The inclusion of coloured diamonds, rubies and antique emeralds further elevates its opulence, bestowing a vivid and mesmerising spectrum of hues that dance in the night. Adding to the allure, the crest features 18k yellow gold, Keshi pearls and 925 sterling silver detailing, embodying a rare and exquisite lustre that symbolises purity and sophistication.
