The Cupid with Couple Ring is meticulously crafted out of silver-plated bronze, imprinted with a detailed carving. As a child, Thibault Hazelzet spent time studying the pages of his parents' 19th century book of cameos. This book fascinated him and so he made castings that are till used and featured on the rings today.

Hazelzet’s rings are reflective of his work as an artist. The brutality of the treatment of materials and the finesse of the figures linked to simple shapes create a contemporary and classic effect simultaneously - something the artist calls a ‘delicate brutalism.’ Hazelzet focuses on extreme contrasts and creates modern pieces that remain universal and timeless.

Thibault Hazelzet is an experimental French artist whose practice spans sculpture, photography, painting and jewellery. With works that are instinctive, poetic and grounded in a deep respect for materials with prior lives, Hazelzet describes his visual language as delicate brutalism – a play of raw materiality and formal finesse, where abstraction meets figuration.
