One might think that a flower in full bloom is in its perfect state. But for the Polish artist and designer Marcin Rusak, it's flowers and plants in various stages of decay that really fire his imagination.

Rusak; whose latest works will be exhibited at Carpenters Workshop Gallery, west London, next month, has developed a technique that enables him to suspend flowers and plants in resin. His vessels, furniture and sculptures are charged with a haunting, ethereal aesthetic, and a sense of the ephemeral nature of beauty.
