This is the first publication presenting the works of Vincenzo De Cotiis. Written by Anne Bony whom specialises in the twentieth century world of design and Joseph Grima, the British architect, critic and curator, with their combined expertise standing as an academic celebration of De Cotiis’ refined aesthetic.

“Incorporating salvaged materials into his tables, chairs, lighting fixtures, cabinets, and screens, De Cotiis’s world appears ageless and graceful. The Milanese designer developed a reputation for stripping domestic spaces and hotel projects back to their Art Nouveau, Baroque or even ancient frames, letting the natural wear of a building’s interior breathe history through inhabited space.”

Artist Biography

A pioneer of contemporary collectible design, Vincenzo De Cotiis is known for merging art, architecture and design into a singular, sculptural language. Through manifestations that conflate archaic idioms with futuristic expressions, his evocative works embody a vision of design as poetic and non-replicable.
