Inspired by the cosmos, Matka Mobile translates celestial movement through clay. Hand-shaped matkas replace sun, moon, and earth, suspended in a slow orbital rhythm. Each surface bears the marks of the hand, catching light unevenly, like bodies worn by time. Despite their material weight, the forms appear to float, held in careful balance. Motion remains gentle, continuous. Craft and cosmology converge, turning traditional pottery into a contemporary constellation.

Artist Biography

Ashiesh Shah is a Mumbai-based designer and artist whose practice integrates long-held traditions with a contemporary visual and sculptural language, combining an aesthetic rooted principles of simplicity with a commitment to the revival of Indian crafts.
