The Movalux Floor Lamp was designed by Franco Giovanni Legler for Arredoluce. Legler specialised in industrial design and sought to produce clean-lined silhouettes with technical innovations. He worked with metal to create the light-painted structure and designed all the breaks to be freely movable.

Artist Biography

Franco Giovanni Legler (1922 – 2015) was a Swiss-Italian industrial designer, widely known as the creator of the Basket Chair of 1951. He completed his education in the United States, and moved to Chicago where he founded his own design studio. In 1961, he returned to Zurich and developed his angular, finely balanced lamps.
