Ingrid Donat is one of the most important artists working today, continuing a long tradition of French avant-garde design. Her combination of sculptural and painterly techniques, expressed on the surface of her bronze artworks, has pioneered a new language of abstraction within the field of collectible design. For Applique Murale Rondelles GM Alu, Ingrid Donat has drawn upon her interests in the decorative arts to create a functional, sculptural pair of wall lights crafted from aluminium. The sculptures can be fixed to the wall, in which they will hang like murals while they omit a soft glow of light from the top. Covered in geometric markings, Ingrid Donat has incorporated her signature pattern making, influenced by the work of Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt and Armand-Ablert Rateau.
