The bronze sheets that form the ‘deconstructed’ end of Bhanga Yellow seem as if they have been blown apart in a hurricane, or ruptured by tectonic activity. Their disjointed composition represents the impact of human behaviour on the environment, as artist Vincent Dubourg channels natural forces into his work. Dubourg relies on his expert knowledge of artisanal craftsmanship across a range of disciplines to update traditional furniture forms into his statement pieces.

Artist Biography

Dubourg poetically fuses the crafts of glassblowing, wood-bending, and metal-casting to bring simple forms to life. In Napoleon A Trotinette, the solid form of a bureau is harmoniously combined with the graceful curves of bronze branches.
