Nacho Carbonell views objects as living organisms, creating pieces that appear both natural and otherworldly. The new Delicacy Table features sprawling metal structures emerging from three concrete bases resembling rocky landforms. These support a long tabletop made of wood and Paverpol plaster that conveys material depth through the textured colour effect in its surface. The work reflects Carbonell’s exploration of organic form and material hybridity through a distinctly structural approach.
Giacomo Ravagli is known for shaping stones, metals and other materials into angular shapes that fracture reality and complicate the viewer’s perspective. Nucleo Chandelier balances the rigid geometry of patinated steel with the fluidity of mica. The metal frame offers a sturdy structure, while the mineral panels soften the light, creating a warm, delicate glow. The design is purposeful but retains an element of roughness, exploring principles of structure, light and interaction between contrasting materials.
Transforming imperfection into sources of beauty, Vincenzo De Cotiis’ works hover between function and sculpture, evoking both timeworn relics and futuristic visions. DC2216 is crafted from a minimalist combination of coloured mirror, cast brass and Murano glass. The two-toned division in the reflective surface is encircled by a bold, striking frame. This abstractly composed work features components reduced to simple linear elements, creating clarity and beauty without superfluity or ornamentation.
The booth also features work by pioneering artists and designers including Aki+Arnaud Cooren, Vincent Dubourg, Roger Herman, Atelier Van Lieshout, Gareth Mason, Frederick Molenschot, Jean Prouvé, Thukral and Tagra and Frantisek Vizner. This display at the 2026 edition of PAD London shines light on a diverse range of approaches to crafting works imbued with both functional and aesthetic value.
