Pirarucu Buffet Alu is a low cabinet made from aluminium and cast from pirarucu fish skin, an air-breathing fish that inhabits the Amazonian rivers and lakes. Anthropomorphic and bulky in form, the piece – with its reptilian surface crafted from artisanal techniques – is a nod to the Campana Brothers’ Brazilian heritage.

Artist Biography

Co-founded in 1984 by brothers Fernando (1961–2022) and Humberto (1953) Campana, the Campana studio has gained international recognition for its innovative furniture and experimental design. Celebrated as a pioneer of disruptive design, the studio has established a groundbreaking visual language and, over four decades of practice, continues to shape the field.
