Sherman, whose self-portraits address stereotypes of women in film, magazines, television and culture-at-large, has joined forces with LIZWORKS. Founded by Liz Swig, LIZWORKS often collaborates with contemporary artists to create limited-edition pieces. Together, they’ve created Cameo (2019), a series of ornamental cameos hand-carved in Torre del Greco, Italy under Gino Di Luca, a third-generation cameo maker. Set in gold and adorned in ornamental details, the collection is inspired by the oldest form of portraiture that dates back to ancient Greece, in which profiles of the Gods of Olympus were first varved in agate. Sherman, who launched a new body of work when she switched her Instagram feed from private to public, invites the viewer to think of the cameo as a selfie, giving the artworks a sense of playfulness through the figures’ expressions and poses. The Pensive Earrings (2019) displays a contemplative character engraved onto sardonyx shells, while the Spa Pendant (2019) sees a self-portrait of Sherman herself dressed in her bathrobe and hair towel, etched onto the same material but adorned with ten cultured pearls on the rim.

Ingrid Donat, one of the most influential living artists in the decorative arts, will exhibit four pieces at the gallery’s booth. This includes the Commode 14 Tiroirs (2022), which has been intricately crafted in parchment and patinated bronze, and the Bougeoir Ekorce Doenlles 03 (2018), a set of sculptural candle holders imprinted in her signature blend of bronze and geometric pattern making. Vincenzo De Cotiis’ VDC14_07B Déchaînements Chandelier (2014), part of his Déchaînements collection, displays a playful interpretation of light and reflection, created with delicate Murano glass and polished brass.
