Spring Salon Frederik Molenschot × Maarten Baas

Among the display is Grandfather Clock The Son by Maarten Baas, a functioning timepiece that continues the artist’s performance of regressing back to childhood. Made of wooden planks reminiscent of a treehouse, the work sees Baas assuming a Peter Pan-like character. He removes himself from the aging effects of time, instead dictating it from within the sculpture by re-drawing the hands of the clock face.

Also exhibited are works by artists including Aldo Bakker, Nacho Carbonell, Aki+Arnaud Cooren, Vincenzo De Cotiis, Ingrid Donat, DRIFT, Vincent Dubourg, Roger Herman, Studio Job, Martin Laforêt, Frederik Molenschot Kostas Lambridis, Gareth Mason, Rick Owens, Atelier Van Lieshout, Verhoeven Twins, and Eva Zeisel.

The exhibition illustrates how works of design both influence and respond to the spaces they inhabit, producing a symbiotic relationship between the two. Inviting viewers to consider creative ways of living, the diverse design approaches that converge in this salon show how spaces become meaningful and liveable through the objects placed within them.
